The Uncomfortable
Untruth We Tell Ourselves.

By Julia Hush

Midlife Women Can’t Launch Online Businesses

I guess if you have stopped here right now it’s because like me you may be a midlife woman who either desires to become an online entrepreneur or you have already started on that journey but quickly stalled as you over question everything, even yourself.

You see, they're is an uncomfortable untruth fed about midlife women like us.

Despite having a wealth of life experience, social media often portrays that this online game is the domain of younger generations who seem to be so natural in front of the camera and whom are seemingly generating $10K months with little to no effort. We are led to presume that despite our backgrounds that no one is going to listen to someone 40+ trying to make it online because we are simply not visible or represented.

You see, recently I stepped away from my 30-year career to dive into entrepreneurship, I thought it would be a breeze. All those years of experience, skills, and know-how? Surely they'd set me up for getting success online too, it’s easy right! But that’s were the battles began.

For years, I was known as "Julia, the retail queen." The one who knew how to run profitable businesses, inspire teams, and deliver results for both national and international women's brands. I was the go-to gal for operational efficiency, strategy, and commercial savvy and was totally confident in front of other people. But now, deep down, something had changed. I was suddenly stuck with overwhelm, fearful, and lost trying to navigate a constant flow of social media posts informing me how easy it is to have online success.

Life had suddenly knocked me sideways - why couldn’t I do this? What had happened to me?

I Suddenly Became Gripped With Procrastination.

You see, procrastination isn’t about being lazy. It’s often tied to fear, overwhelm, and that nagging feeling of not being ready or having anything of value to add.

Suddenly I was holding myself back, waiting for the ‘perfect’ moment, when in reality, all I needed to do is take that first step. The longer I waited, the more self-doubt seemed to creep in.

But guess what? I discovered that imperfect action beats no action every single time. It’s taken me time to shake off the hesitation, trust in my worth, and just get moving, but now I’m on my way.

Woman at Work

Navigating My Changing Identity.

After decades of being known for my leadership and achievements, stepping into something new felt disorienting and uncomfortable. I started questioning who am I and what might my peers be thinking about my decision. Was I crazy!

But here’s the thing I learned: this changing identity is not something to fear – it’s just part of reinvention. The core of who I am, and the experience I’ve gained are mine, uniquely mine to share with the world.

I wasn’t losing myself at all; I was expanding, growing, and discovering new sides to me never discovered, and with that, adding new values and tools to my previous experience.

I’ve finally accepted it’s okay to feel off track sometimes – it just means I’m stepping into something bigger and a reinvented me.

Stressed Woman

Feeling Lost & Overwhelmed With All This Tech Stuff.

Despite being married to a professional Web and Marketing nerd, my husband Kieron. I was still hitting the constant overwhelm of understanding the online tech needed to launch my business, no matter how he explained it.

With all the systems that I had seen others advise I use to launch my online business and record my online courses, I was still battling the overwhelm and fear of how to do all this stuff.

I started to question if I could ever understand all that I needed to do until Kieron showed me Wix Studio and walked me through this all in one solution. Sometime we just need someone with the knowledge and experience to nudge us to the right solution.

I’ve definitely learnt that I shouldn’t allow fear of web technologies stop and overwhelm me, and neither should you.

Hi, this is me, Julia (& my mum)

Finally, I’m now helping women just like you overcome midlife doubts and start to create the online business of their dreams.

After reading through my story above, it may seem surprising that someone with a successful career would choose to change direction in midlife, but that's exactly what I did back in 2023. And let me tell you, it's been quite the journey.

But what I’ve learnt is that the most important thing that I’ve addressed has been my own fears and doubts which have left me challenged and lost during those early months of my new venture. And that as a middle aged women I can still add value to this world, despite often trying to talk myself out of taking action.

It’s because of this experience that I soon became very aware through women’s groups that I wasn’t alone with my feelings, and this became the catalysis for launching what I believe is a fresh approach for female entrepreneurs.

Over the last few months I envisioned that there has to be a better way. A better approach to female leadership training and a much needed simpler route for women of middle age to share their wealth of knowledge through online courses and communities they can grow and cherish.

That is why I developed Julia’s Gorgeous Girls which aims through online courses, community and mentorship, to become a place of achievement. A community helping women address their personal well-being and mindsets, and with my husbands web & marketing agency by our side, providing clear technical knowledge with real online solutions that actually work for his paying clients.

So with your permission, I would love to invite you to access my first launch course that is designed to help Gorgeous Girls like you and me, overcome the personal challenges we face on a daily basis and prepare ourselves for our online adventures together.

Lot’s of love - Jx

Overcome Your Objections And Start Today.

Getting Started by yourself can be hard.

By investing in this course you will gain valuable insights into why we often stall and procrastinate and therefore either never get started on our dream business or just spend a lifetime getting started. By being part of an active group of likeminded females, you will gain more support and a faster route than struggling alone.

I'm just too old for this now.

With age, comes experience, and whilst the cool kids may be able to whip up a course and a following in less time than us older ladies, that shouldn't put you off getting started and letting the world hear your valuable contribution and life lessons.

Who's going to be interested in me.

Your knowledge is invaluable, and there are people who are waiting to benefit from your insights. Let's collaborate to turn your expertise into a transformative experience. You can make a difference and inspire others along the way, it just takes having the right mindset first.

You need technical skills to create and run a course, this scares me.

The internet is flooded with tools that allow you to build and launch courses and communities, but here at Julia's Gorgeous Girls, our offer is unique in the fact we only use 'Wix Studio' and we don't hide this behind some white labled rebrand, because we desire our community to have access to tools that really work and allow you to access amazing training tools both through Wix Academy, and our in house training.
